Project Type: Film/Charecter-Based Production

Role: Costume Stylist

SWIL Xmas Special

7 Characters / 20 Scenes / 10 Locations

I worked as Costume Stylist on SWIL Xmas Special, a character-led film created by Michael Dapper.

The project centred around a multi-character performance, with one actor portraying multiple personalities across different scenes and environments.

This production was built around transformation.

Michael Dapper performed 5 distinct characters, each requiring a clear and believable identity.

The project spanned:

• 7 fully styled characters

• 20 scenes

• 10 locations

• 5-day shoot schedule

With an additional music video segment integrated into the film.

Role & Contribution

• Lead Costume Stylist Full Production

• Character Styling Development

• Wardrobe Sourcing & Shopping

• Prop Sourcing for Character Differentiation

• On-Set Styling Across All Shoot Days

Creative Challenge

The core challenge was visual

differentiati.

With one individual playing multiple roles, styling and costume became essential in:

• Defining each character’s identity

• Supporting personality and narrative

• Ensuring clarity for the audience

Each character needed to feel distinct, recognisable and consistent across scenes.

Styling Approach

The approach was rooted in character building through costume:

• Individualised silhouettes per character

• Variation in colour, texture and fit

• Use of props to enhance identity

• Alignment with personality and behaviour

Wardrobe choices were used as a primary storytelling tool, not just visual styling.

Production Scale

Filming took place across:

• 10 different locations

• Multiple scene transitions

• Fast-paced 5-day schedule

This required:

• Efficient styling changes

• Strong organisation and prep

• Continuity management across scenes

Character Development

Each of the 7 characters was treated as a separate identity:

• Defined through wardrobe and accessories

• Supported by styling continuity across scenes

• Built to reflect different personalities and energies

Costume played a key role in making each transformation feel intentional and believable.

Output

Full film (YouTube release)

• Multi-character performance piece

• Narrative + music video integration

This project highlights my ability to work within film and character-based styling, where costume plays a central role in storytelling.

It demonstrates experience in:

• Character development through wardrobe

• High-volume styling across multiple scenes

• Working within fast-paced production environments
